If you're nodding off, it will sound an alarm. If you do so too many times, it'll tie into navigation and guide you to the nearest rest area.

Remind me why the Feds are making this tool worthy of a ticket?

IIRC there is a tool like this available to truckers as well. It is a camera that watches the driver's face. Counts the number of blinks (you blink more when you're tired), time the eyes are closed and monitors head movement. If it appears you are nodding off, it sounds an alarm

There really should be more of this tech in cars

I hear that.

I was sick as all get out Tuesday night and got zero sleep.

My wife walked into my office 4:35 Wednesday afternoon (I work from home) and found me dead asleep on my conference call. I remember seeing 4:28, and 4:32 (as I popped back awake)... but must have been more than just a little fading out.

If I had had to make a significant drive Wednesday afternoon, I would have skipped whatever that was. I just wasn't up to it.

I always wanted to see what the Mazda 6 looked like at night on the inside. I now want it more.
